OTILIA IS A BACHELOR OF LAW OF THE FACULTY OF LAW OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BUCHAREST AS WELL AS OF THE PARIS I PANTHEON SORBONNE UNIVERSITY IN PARIS, FROM WHICH SHE ALSO HOLDS A MASTERS DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW.
SHE IS A MEMBER OF THE BUCHAREST BAR SINCE 2013 WHEN SHE ALSO COMPLETED AN LLM PROGRAM IN CROSS-CULTURAL BUSINESS PRACTICE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF FRIBOURG, SWITZERLAND, WITH A GRADUATION PAPER FOCUSED ON COMPETITION.

 

Otilia joined GNP in July 2020. In this role she will coordinate the competition practice of GNP and she will also represent GNP in professional associations which bring together representatives of the business environment but also representatives of the legal environment.

 

During her career, Otilia has been involved in high-profile competition cases for the retail and FMCG industry, telecom sector, insurance market and leasing sector, oil and gas, tourism industry and cinema market etc.

 

Otilia’s areas of expertise focus on competition law (i.e. anti-trust practices and competition investigations, merger control and state aid procedures), but also include commercial law, intellectual property, retail and consumer protection as well as public procurement.

 

Throughout her career, Otilia has coordinated various types of projects related to competition matters, assisting clients during complex investigations of the Competition Council (cartel cases, vertical cases or abuse of dominance), from dawn raids by the Competition Council or the EU Commission, to representation during hearings before the Plenum, settlement cases, as well as in connection to state aid related projects (involving assessments of restructuring and/or rescue aid, conducting private investor tests analysis etc.) or compliance matters – including holding numerous presentations, seminars and trainings for clients and/or their commercial partners.
